Parenting Plans That Are in the Child's Best Interest
In Florida's courtrooms, the terms child custody and visitation are used very rarely these days. The courts want to see shared parental responsibility. They want to see a parenting plan that allows the child to spend time with each parent. In most cases, this is believed to be in the child's best interest.
My name is attorney Randy Hillman. With more than 30 years of family law experience on my side, I can work with you to create a parenting plan that makes sense for you and your child. Joint Custody: What Does It Mean?
A lot of people believe they want joint custody. In many cases, people believe that means a 50-50 split. That sort of arrangement is actually fairly unusual, although it is possible.
Parenting plans outline the amount of time each parent spends with the child. Typically, the majority of that time is spent with one parent. That is the parent that receives child support. The parenting plan then outlines the amount of time that the other parent, the one who pays child support, is to spend with the child.
